Yes, Matosinhos has eleven urban rehabilitation areas (ARU), from Lavra and Leça da Palmeira in the north to Senhora da Hora and São Mamede de Infesta in the south. Each has its own council page.

- Inside a declared ARU, national tax rules can apply to rehabilitation works: reduced VAT, IMI and IMT exemptions and an IRS deduction. The conditions are in the guide; the council decides whether the IMI exemption can be renewed for five more years.
